Long Reef Beach House sits right on the water’s edge in the seaside town of Currarong, on the New South Wales’ south coast. With panoramic views across Crookhaven Bight, the house provides the perfect location to relax and take in the natural beauty of this protected area.

Long Reef Beach House has an absolute waterfront position and its open plan living area and large verandah overlook the water. You can watch the pelicans feeding in the shallows, spot the dolphins exploring the bay, or just read the paper while keeping an eye on your kids playing in the water.

Long Reef Beach House provides self-contained accommodation for up to 10 people, with four bedrooms configured as follows:

  • three bedrooms have queen size beds
  • the fourth bedroom sleeps up to four people, with two king single beds and two pull-out single trundles
  • two bedrooms have ensuites with showers, and the third and fourth bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower over a good-sized bath.

Outside major holiday periods, guests requiring only two or three bedrooms can book Long Reef Beach House and the tariff is reduced accordingly.

Features of the recently renovated house include a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, dining table seating eight, and two lounge areas. For entertainment, the house has television, video and a CD player. The house has gas heaters for the cooler months and an internal laundry. There’s an extensive backyard with a barbecue for cooking the catch of the day, or maybe just a few snags. The backyard is secure and suitable for pets.

A short stroll in any direction will lead you to white sandy beaches, fabulous swimming holes or great bush tracks for walking – one leads to the 1928 wreck of the SS Merimbula. The bay is an ideal location for windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba diving and kayaking. For those keen on fishing, there is an easily accessible boat ramp nearby, as well as numerous rock and beach locations to throw in a line.

A short drive away is beautiful Jervis Bay National Park, with its world famous diving locations, dolphin and whale watch cruises, secluded beaches and charming coastal towns. Historic Point Perpendicular lighthouse is also a favourite with visitors.

Currarong, at less than three hours’ drive south of Sydney, is a world away from the hectic pace of the city. Long Reef Beach House is ideal for a romantic weekend getaway, fabulous for family and school holidays, and just perfect to spend time catching up with friends.
