The Sydney Morning Herald magazine Good Weekend publishes an annual list of 52 Weekend retreats which its writers consider among the best in the country.

Long Reef Beach House appeared in the 2000 "52 Weekends Away" issue, published October 28th 2000.

"The house itself is literally 20 metres from the sea, and 100 metres in both directions from pristine beaches. And so we spent hours lying on the soft sand and soaking in the white light. Then it rained, so we stoked up the wood-burning stove and embarked on a terrifyingly competitive game of Monopoly, about which I have only this to say: if we had kept playing till the bitter end and not given up as certain hopeless people insisted, then everyone would have seen who is really the financial genius among us. Guess who's buying the beach house on her next go? "
